And the top school in London is…. the St Paul’s Girls’ School! The second place, well, it’s a tie between Westminster School and the North London Collegiate School, really. Westminster School has the second highest percentage of A*’s (85%), while NLCS tops the table of the highest share of A*’s – A’s. So I will provide rankings based on both criteria, although you will see they will look quite similar. The data is based on the Telegraph’s 2012 independent school league table for all of England, but I have added a few more schools individually that were not included in that table (for example, St Paul’s School for Girls and also the Henrietta Barnett School, which is a state grammar school but can easily compete with the top independent schools). The St Paul’s School for boys doesn’t seem to have published their results yet – I assume they would be among the top 5 in the table as well. I will add them once published.

I think you’ll find the A*-A statistic for Henrietta Barnett is for A-levels. The percentage of A*-A at GCSE is higher and would change their place in the rankings significantly.
you are very right, thank you for spotting this! I have updated the numbers for the Henrietta Barnett School and it has indeed moved further to the top of the table. Thanks again!
