Westminster School publishes a list of its 13+ feeder schools, and as a leading boys’ day school in London, it will give parents a very good idea about the top prep schools in London. There are 120 places at the senior school at 13+. About 45% of boys (50-60 each year) come from the Westminster Under School and its 7+/8+ and 11+ intake. Westminster Under School admits 20 boys at 7+, 20 at 8+ and a further 25 at 11+. About 5-10 of those move to Eton and Winchester (occasionally Harrow) at 13+, but the rest move up to the senior school. Westminster School publishes its feeder prep schools annually in its admission booklet. You will find the full information for 2018 and 2019 below.

Anke hello,
I have a question about Heathside school. It is stated on its website that they sent 4 pupils to Westminster in 2017 (ages 10-13). Westminster states that there was only 1 pupil from there. Could it be that the remaining 3 went there at an earlier age? Or something fishy going on? I just can’t get enough information how good Heathside school is, and now I find this discrepancy.. Thank you very much for your opinion, Alina
it could be at 11+, although 3 sounds like a high number. But one would expect prep schools to report accurate numbers.
hello – I have the same question – I m looking at both Devonshire and heathside – heathside seems to have amazing results but we don t really know if it s offers or destinations ( for ex one kid could have offers to all the schools?) – I have as well a question regarding the content of the 11+ and 13+ exam for boys – as most of these schools prep for 13+ but some schools only have intake for 11+ ( like Highgate) is the content really different or if you re prep for 13+ it s same and you can apply by yourself to those schools that offer place for 11+?
the 13+ decision is mainly based on the pre-test taken in Year 6, and the 11+ and pre=test are fairly similar, except that the 11+ takes place in January and the pre-test in June. So boys schools till 13+ would also prep for the 11+ pre-test mainly and only in year 7 and year 8 broaden their curriculum in preparation for common entrance / scholarship examinations. There is a difference but it is not massive.
